Aviation Machinist’s Mate 1st Class Aaron Gutierrez, right, a crew chief with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, helps sixth graders build foam replicas of the Blue Angels’ F-18 aircraft during the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Air Show STEM Day. The Air Show STEM Day, held May 10, was the a first-time event organized by FRCE’s STEM Outreach Team in support of MCAS Cherry Point and Marine Corps Community Services Cherry Point. Approximately 1,000 Craven County sixth graders attended the event, which featured more than 30 interactive stations providing activities rooted in science, technology, engineering and math.
