U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 435th Contingency Response Element use a dynamic cone penetrometer to assess the quality of the soil in the area for a potential landing zone at Kecskemet Air Base, Hungary, May 5, 2024. These Airmen were part of an advanced echelon team sent to establish a camp, and survey a landing zone prior to the Contingency Response Element’s arrival as part of Swift Response 24. SR24 is a series of multinational interoperability exercises under DEFENDER 24 led by U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa to advance Agile Combat Employment capabilities in the European theater.
