Nebraska National Guard Soldiers and Airmen inprocess for state active duty for tornado response support at the Camp Ashland Training Site, Ashland, Nebraska, May 2, 2024. Eighty-two Soldiers and Airmen volunteered for state active duty to integrate with local law enforcement at designated areas in Douglas County that were significantly impacted by the Arbor Day tornadoes on April 26, 2024. The Soldiers and Airmen will be working in rotating shifts providing controlled vehicle access and conducting roving patrols to ensure the safety and well-being of all within the affected areas.
