U.S. members of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) repatriation team carry a transfer case during a repatriation ceremony in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, April 16, 2024. The possible osseous material of these unknown personnel recovered from various regions in Vietnam will undergo an examination for possible identification at DPAA. The ceremony marked the end of the joint field activity and this iteration’s efforts to recover unaccounted-for personnel from the Vietnam War. During the ceremony, team members and Socialist Republic of Vietnam officials, transfer possible osseous material and material to DPAA for potential identification at the DPAA laboratory on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
