U.S. military members, part of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) repatriation team salute as the transfer case passes during the repatriation ceremony in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, April 16, 2024. The possible osseous material will undergo an examination for possible identification at the DPAA Hawaii laboratory. The ceremony marked the end of the joint field activity and this iteration’s efforts to recover unaccounted-for personnel from the Vietnam War. During the ceremony, team members and Socialist Republic of Vietnam officials, transfer possible osseous material and material to DPAA for potential identification at the DPAA laboratory on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
