A competition-size squad of five Soldiers assigned to the 53d Transportation Battalion, 593d Expeditionary Sustainment Command, receive the Army Commendation Medal for winning first place in the 593d ESC division-level 2024 Best Squad Competition, April 29, 2024, at Joint Base-Lewis McChord, Washington. Col. Kevin Cotman and Sgt. Maj. Lorenzo Souza, the 593d ESC commander and outgoing senior operations non-commissioned officer, presented awards to members of the winning team. Staff Sgt. Trevor Smolinski, Sgt. Jason Pantano, Spc. Nikolas Soung, Pfc. Ezekiel Hernandez, and Pfc. Gregorio Gomez, will advance and compete in the I Corps 2024 Best Squad Competition.
