BOURNE, Mass – Spc. Brian Fraga, a Soldier with the 182nd Engineer Company, Massachusetts National Guard, is presented with the Musket trophy after winning the 2024 Mass. National Guard Best Warrior Competition by Brig Gen. Mark Kalin, Land Component Commander, Massachusetts National Guard, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Campbell, State Command Sergeant Major, Massachusetts National Guard. Fraga was later promoted to the rank of sergeant.
The Best Warrior Competition is held to find the best Soldier and Non-Commisioned Officer in the state, foster competition, and inspire esprit de corps. Consisting of six known events and one surprise event, the competition tests Soldier's leadership, knowledge of basic Army skills, strength, and endurance.
Fraga will go on to compete at the Region One Best Warrior competition in May, with the hopes of competing at the National Best Warrior Competition later this year. (U.S. Army Photo by Sgt. 1st Class Steven Eaton)
