Relatives and supporters of U.S. Army Pvt. Homer Mitchell hold a funeral service in his hometown of Portales, New Mexico, April 26, 2024. Mitchell served with the U.S. Army’s 90th Infantry Division during World War II, fighting from Utah Beach, France, until his death in Pachten, Germany on Dec. 10, 1944.
