Kentucky Air National Guardsmen from the 123rd Airlift Wing and local airport personnel offload pallets of residential building supplies from a C-130J Super Hercules during Operation Arctic Haven at Deadhorse, Alaska, April 24, 2024. Operation Arctic Haven was executed under the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program. During the operation, the National Guard Bureau utilized KYANG airlift assets to transport 340,000 pounds of residential building supplies to Arctic communities experiencing housing shortages. IRT is exclusive to the United States and its territories and delivers joint training opportunities to increase deployment readiness.
