Recycled origami baskets are displayed during a newspaper origami event in the library on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, April 26, 2024. Participants learned to craft eco-friendly baskets from recycled newspapers using origami, a Japanese paper folding technique used to sculpt objects out of paper. The event, hosted by the Environmental Affairs Branch, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, also taught attendees waste reduction strategies aligned with Earth Day’s mission.
