Children and staff from the Kamala Elementary School in Phuket, Thailand, thank Sailors from guided-missile cruiser USS Port Royal (CG 73), guided-missile frigate USS Ingraham (FFG 61) and Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 43, Detachment 7, for helping refurbish nearly 200 student desks during a community relations project held at the school. Port Royal, Ingraham and HSL-43, Det. 7, are part of the USS Tarawa Expeditionary Strike Group, and are on a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. Operating in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, the U.S. 7th fleet is the largest of the forward deployed U.S. Fleets covering 52 million square miles, with approximately 50 ships, 120 aircraft, and 20,000 Sailors and Marines assigned at any given time.
