Staff members from the Navy and Marine Corps Force Health Protection Command (NMCFHPC) and Sailors from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) attend a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) event on April 23, 2024, at Manor High School, in Portsmouth, Virginia. During the event, Lt. Cmdr. Kimberly Pistell, an emergency room (ER) resident with NMCP, instructs a student how to properly suture a wound at the suture station. Suturing is a stitching technique used by medical professionals to close open wounds. The event was hosted to educate and inspire students about STEM studies by allowing them to get hands on with some of the equipment. (Navy photo by Desmond Martin)
