West Virginia National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Tyler Alkire, Department of Emergency Services, dawns his Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear during the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear lane of the Range Run during the WVNG Best Warrior Competition on April 20, 2024, located at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, West Virginia. This event is only one of the ten that is used to score each competitors’ performance which determines the winner of the competition. Held annually at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, West Virginia, the WVNG BWC tests West Virginia and District of Columbia National Guard members in a series of warrior training tasks including weapons proficiency on weapons systems, land navigation, physical fitness, combat first aid, tactical movements, communications and professional development activities.
