U.S. Army Col. Christopher Jones and Command Sgt. Maj. Tamara Williams, the command team of the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade, uncase their brigade colors, demonstrating their assumption of responsibility for the mission to set the V Corps area of operations for sustainment during a transfer of authority ceremony at Forward Operating Site Powidz, Poland, April 19, 2024. The brigade deployed as part of a rotation of forces to the V Corps’ area of operations in Eastern Europe to lead a multi-composition array of sustainment units conducting operations and training alongside allies and partners to bolster security and deter adversaries in the region. During the ceremony, the 3rd DSB also cased their unit colors, symbolizing the completion of their mission and marking the final event before redeployment to Fort Stewart, Georgia.
