U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company and the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company host a transfer of authority ceremony at Forward Operating Site Powidz, Poland, April 18, 2024. Both companies deployed to lead a multi-composition array of sustainment units alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe. Capt. Brittany Belcher and Master Sgt. Johan Carrillo, the command team of the deployed 3rd DSB Headquarters Company, cased their unit’s guidon, symbolically demonstrating the completion of their mission and redeployment to Fort Stewart, Georgia. The deployed 1st CDSB Headquarters Company command team, 2nd Lt. David Perez and 1st Sgt. Timothy Birk, uncased their company’s guidon, symbolically demonstrating the formal assumption of responsibility for the mission.
