U.S. Army 2nd Lt. David Perez and 1st Sgt. Timothy Birk, the command team of the deployed 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company, uncase their unit’s guidon, symbolically demonstrating the completion of their mission during a transfer of authority ceremony at Forward Operating Site Powidz, Poland, April 18, 2024. The 1st CDSB Headquarters deployed to lead a multi-composition array of sustainment units alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe. The 1st CDSB Headquarters and Headquarters Company relieved the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company, which will now redeploy to Fort Stewart, Georgia.
