Military surveillance between 2014 and 2022 by the Department of Defense shows STIs have been steadily increasing among U.S. active duty service members, mirroring the rising rate of STIs in the U.S. population generally. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends getting tested whenever you have a new partner, and more often if you’re not in an exclusive relationship.
