U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jose Guzman, a fire control specialist assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, is evaluated by Sgt. 1st Class Quinton Martin, an fire control specialist assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Armored Division Artillery, during the weapons test portion of the Division Artillery Best Redleg Competition, April 3, 2024 at Fort Bliss, Texas. The six-day competition consists of each team going head-to-head in a series of physically demanding and mentally challenging events testing Field Artillery fundamentals, and the exchange of best practices through healthy competition and rivalry. The winning team will be named the 1st Armored Division's Best Redleg Team and will represent the 1st Armored Division "Old Ironsides" during the inaugural General Raymond T. Odierno Best Redleg Competition, happening at Fort Sill, Okla., the ancestral home of Field Artillery in May 2024.
