SOUTH CHINA SEA (March 21, 2024) – Chief Warrant Officer 2 Wesley Huizenga, right, from Milledgeville, Illinois, main propulsion assistant, completes a Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination practical exam, while Hull Maintenance Technician 1st Class Johnathon Jimmerson, from Leesburg, Georgia, acts as his opponent, as part of security forces training aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Mobile (LCS 26) while underway in the South China Sea, March 21. Participants of the exam must demonstrate combat mindset and basic martial arts techniques to pass and receive their security forces qualification. Mobile, part of Destroyer Squadron 7, is on a rotational deployment operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with Allies and partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
