Members of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and U.S. Navy Region Hawaii share a moment of silence as U.S. Navy Seaman Second Class Raymond D. Boynton’s casket is lowered during an interment ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, March 20, 2024. The DPAA and other attendees paid their respects and honored the life of Boynton, who was assigned to the USS Oklahoma when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft during World War II. The USS Oklahoma sustained multiple torpedo hits, which caused it to quickly capsize. Boynton was accounted for on Dec. 22, 2020. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jonathan McElderry)
