U.S. Navy medical personnel with the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) provide medical care to a simulated casualty during an en route care exercise for Iron Fist 24, aboard the USS America, in the Western Pacific, March 14, 2024. During the exercise U.S. Navy Sailors and JGSDF service members worked alongside each other to practice life-saving care tactics and provide medical aid to simulated casualties. Iron Fist is an annual bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force, and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.
