Royal Thai soldiers and U.S. Marines meet with the vice governor of Phitsanulok province Phunthep Srivanich, center, and other government officials Jan. 31 to update the staff about three ongoing engineering civic assistance projects as part of Exercise Cobra Gold 2013 in the Kingdom of Thailand. “I would like to thank all the service members part of Cobra Gold,” said Srivanich. “These projects will support the quality of life of the province, and our community will provide full support to help accomplish the mission.” The Royal Thai soldiers and U.S. Marines are attached to the combined joint civil military operations task force during the exercise. Cobra Gold is the largest multinational exercise in the Asia-Pacific region and provides the Kingdom of Thailand, United States, Singapore, Japan, Republic of Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia an opportunity to maintain relationships and enhance interoperability.
