Josef Hartzel, senior communication watch officer for the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon, discusses leader communication challenges during the Flight Leadership Orientation Course at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C., March 5, 2024. The participants discussed the implementation of “five times-five ways,” a concept which highlights the importance of communicating a message using multiple methods so the whole team can more effectively grasp the mission.
