A U.S. Marine Corps High Mobility Artillery Rocket System is loaded onto a Lockheed C-130 Hercules with Marine Ariel Refueler Transport Squadron 152 during exercise Typhoon Crossbow 24.2 on Iwo To, Japan, Feb. 28, 2024. Typhoon Crossbow is an exercise that proves 3d Battalion, 12th Marine Littoral Regiment’s abilities to establish an expeditionary advanced base by executing a HIRAIN. HIRAIN is the process of identifying a target, seizing key terrain, inserting High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, destroying the target and retrograding back to a secure location.
