A U.S. Marine Corps High Mobility Artillery Rocket System prepares for a fire mission during exercise Typhoon Crossbow 24.2 on Iwo To, Japan, Feb. 28, 2024. Typhoon Crossbow is an exercise that proves 3d Battalion, 12th Marine Littoral Regiment’s abilities to establish an expeditionary advanced base by executing a HIRAIN. HIRAIN is the process of identifying a target, seizing key terrain, inserting High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, destroying the target and retrograding back to a secure location.
