The Navy Misawa Snow Team gathers in front of their snow sculpture of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). The 2013 Navy Misawa Snow Team created the sculpture for the 64th Annual Sapporo Snow Festival on Hokkaido Island in northern Japan. The team is comprised of, from left, Chief Builder Christopher "Billy" Knox, originally from Chapin, Ill.; Equipment Operator 2nd Class Ismael Ponce, a native of Hobbs, N.J.; Cryptologic Technician (Collection) 2nd Class Ryan Miller, from Vernon, N.J.; Aviation Structural Mechanic (Safety Equipment) Airman Gabriel Neri, originally from San Diego; Aviation Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Shawn Mullen, who originally hails from Watson, La.; and Aircrew Survival Equipmentman 2nd Class Parnell Nauta, from Talofofo, Guam. Together, they are representing Naval Air Facility Misawa, which has sent a delegation of Sailors to the city's annual snow festival for the past 30 years.
