U.S. Army Green Berets with 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) coordinate long range movements in Kotzebue, Alaska, Feb. 27, 2024. The Green Berets must travel under austere conditions to and from their training site during Arctic Edge 24 (AE24). Special Operations Command North deployed more than 400 joint and allied Special Operations Forces across the pan-Arctic region, stretching from Alaska to Greenland, during AE24 to advance SOF capabilities and readiness in extreme cold weather and high latitude environments.
