Andre Sobocinski, BUMED historian, and NMOTC Staff observe a water survival class at Aviation Survival Training Center; Pensacola (ASTC) during an official visit to Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC), Jan. 30. The visit is intended to learn first hand some of the historical and physical nuances of the command that cannot be fully realized through reports and historical data. The position of historian is an important and essential role in Navy Medicine as there is so much data and history that must be remembered, catalogued, and preserved to ensure peak operational efficiency and constant improvement of established practices.
NMOTC is comprised of six nationwide detachments that offer specialized medical training in the fields of aviation, aviation survival, surface and undersea warfare, expeditionary and special operations medicine. (U.S. Navy Photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Russell Lindsey SW/AW)
