Next generation heat illness prevention technology is giving command units real-time visibility into a Warfighter’s health in the field. Here, under the guidance of the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine’s Thermal & Mountain Medicine Division principal investigators for the Heat Injury Prevention System’s guidance, Marine Sgt. Farias with RTR S4 can closely monitor when a Marine becomes increasingly vulnerable by looking at variables such as heart rate and estimated core temperature.
