Lance Cpl. Noel A. Alvarez, air support operations operator, Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364 (Rein.), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, receives a Certificate of Commendation from Lt. Col. Ned M. Biehl, his commanding officer, during a ceremony held in the hangar bay of the USS Peleliu, Feb. 2. Alvarez received the award for being selected as the 15th MEU’s Marine of the Quarter. Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364 (Rein.) serves as the aviation combat element for the 15th MEU. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
