USACE Galveston district Eddie Irigoyen, a construction manager in the Construction Branch and the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Awareness Program liaison for the district, volunteers as part of the district’s 'Corps in the Classroom' initiative. The Corps in the Classroom program pairs army personnel, engineers and scientists with elementary, middle and high school students, to provide opportunities for students to learn about the engineering and science career fields, educate the community about the corps’ mission and highlight the district’s contributions to the community, state and nation.
