U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Kassandra Schmidt, the outgoing commanding officer of Alpha Company, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, speaks after relinquishing command of the company during a change of command ceremony on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 8, 2024. Schmidt took command of Alpha Company on Aug. 10, 2023, and relinquished command to Maj. Joseph Schulze, the oncoming commanding officer. While previously serving as commanding officer, Schmidt served as the adjutant for Alpha Company. Schmidt explained that while serving as an adjutant, she worked with a plethora of Marines leading to mission success during her time as a commanding officer.
