Nine members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District (SWG), Hydrography Survey Section practice directing someone to call 9-1-1 before beginning CPR on a non-responsive, non-breathing person during CPR Certification Class at the Jadwin Building in Galveston, Texas, Jan. 31, 2024. Approximately 19 members of the Hydrography Survey Section completed CPR certification after the course, which is valid for two years. The Hydrography Survey Section spends time every week on the waters of Coastal Texas, conducting underwater survey missions. CPR certification gives survey section members important skills which could help them save a life.
