U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Peyton Reed, an infantry Marine with Battalion Landing Team 1/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, issues orders to Marines during a mechanized raid exercise at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 6, 2024. The Marines of BLT 1/1 refined their tactical skills through the use of coordinating with multiple vehicles and inserting from critical strategic positions. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
