PENSACOLA, Fla. - Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jim Kilby answers a student’s question during an all-hands call at the Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit, Jan. 31. Kilby visited the Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit and spoke with leadership about Sailor morale, insight gained from the National Inspection Team and improvements to resources like Salesforce that are used in the field. Kilby also hosted an all-hands call with over 200 students at the schoolhouse, where he answered questions regarding retention and recruiting incentives.
NORU is the Navy’s sole recruiting schoolhouse responsible for the instruction of enlisted and officer personnel in professional sales, prospecting techniques, marketing, applicant processing, recruiting terminology, leadership, ethical behavior, and activity analysis. It also provides continuum training for the Navy’s Career Recruiting Force and prepares selected leaders for the challenges of operating a Navy Recruiting District (NRD).
