240114-N-EE352-3025 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Jan. 14, 2023) Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Joshua Fallon, from Buffalo, New York, fires a shot line to Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) during a replenishment-at-sea aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Hopper (DDG 70). A shot line is used to pass lines that enable ships to connect during replenishments. Hopper is assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE and deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
