U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. John Ellinwod ground-fights during a squad competition at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 20, 2023. The competition was held to test the squads in their mastery of warfighting skills. Ellinwood, a native of Tucson, Arizona, is a rifleman with 2d Battalion, 7th Marines. 2/7 is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program.
