Lt. Cmdr. Joshua Napoli, handler, left, and Cmdr. Paul Case, air officer, lead a tour for distinguished visitors in flight deck control of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, following completion of the 16th annual Joint Drill, Dec. 15. The Joint Drill is a yearly exercise with rotating scenarios that reflect a realistic response and ensures that both the U.S. Navy and the Japanese government are proficient and able to work together seamlessly during an emergency. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
