Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, Dilawar Syed, and USAID Program Office Director David Martz, visited The Station to meet Iraqi entrepreneurs and business owners who received USAID support. The visit enabled the entrepreneurs and owners to showcase their products and discuss the opportunities and challenges of starting and operating a small or medium enterprise in Iraq.
USAID is proud to partner with The Station to promote economic growth and strengthen the private sector in Iraq. A lack of access to private investment capital, onerous business registration, and institutional support are barriers that entrepreneurs and business owners in Iraq face when establishing, formalizing, and growing their own businesses. USAID is committed to fostering inclusive entrepreneurship focused on women and youth and supporting local businesses to create opportunities for all.
