231212-N-CD319-1030 PHILIPPINE SEA (Dec. 12, 2023) Aviation Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Mark Vanderleest, from Lansing, Michigan, removes chains used to secure an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the "Blue Hawks" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 78, to the flight deck of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110). Lawrence, assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE, is deployed to U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
