New Jersey’s fallen were honored during a wreath laying ceremony at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Holmdel, New Jersey, Dec. 13, 2023. The ceremony was part of the Wreaths Across America convoy, which stopped at the Memorial during its annual trip to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. During the ceremony, wreaths were presented to Gold Star family members. In addition, wreaths were placed at the base of each of the memorial’s 366 eight-foot-tall black granite panels – each representing a day of the year – with the names of the 1,564 New Jersey men and one woman who gave their lives while serving in Southeast Asia.
