A U.S. Marine with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 174 assists with a hot refuel of an F-35B Lightning II assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 242 at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 5, 2023. Hot refuels allow aircraft to rapidly refuel without powering down their engines, increasing operational readiness and reducing the amount of time needed to get the aircraft back into action.
