An Airman from an Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron uses a guide wire to help feed arresting tape into an underground cable shack within the Central Command area of responsibility, Nov. 22, 2023. The arresting tape is a component of an aircraft arresting system which provides pilots of military aircraft the ability to operate in a wider range of environments and landing locations by providing a means to safely stop aircraft in adverse conditions.
