U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Elijah Childers, a fire support marine with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, takes notes during a joint fire’s observer class at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 7, 2023. JFO training gives Marines the tools to integrate with close air support, artillery, and naval surface fire support, and to provide timely and accurate targeting information to a qualified Joint Terminal Attack Controller. 5th ANGLICO provides the Marine Air Ground Task Force Commander with a liaison capability to plan, coordinate, employ, and conduct terminal control of fires in support of joint, allied, and coalition forces.
