Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Capt. Isaac Bates, 436th Transport Squadron pilot, conducts pre-flight procedures on an RCAF C-130J Super Hercules Dec. 7, 2023, during Operation Christmas Drop (OCD 23). Under the leadership of the U.S. Air Force 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, OCD 23 is poised to be a milestone in the mission’s history as a fleet of C-130J Super Hercules and C-130H Hercules aircraft, along with crews from the U.S., Japan, the Republic of Korea, and for the first time ever, Canada, come together to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
