A ‘Jutba’ tribute bundle of humanitarian aid sits in the cargo bay of a 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron C-130J Super Hercules in honor of Senior Airman Jeremy Jutba-Hake at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 8, 2023, during Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23). Jutba was a member of the 36th Airlift Squadron, Yokota Air Base, Japan, who passed away due to heart complications after landing at Andersen AFB during OCD in 2015. Airmen participating in OCD gather annually to hold a memorial ceremony in Jutba’s honor. This year, the Jutba tribute bundle adornment of leis was donated in honor of Ray Overbey, the father of U.S. Air Force Maj. Zach “Badger” Overbey, OCD 23 mission commander. Badger tragically lost his father to suicide in 2014, but says some of their last conversations were about searching for ways to give back and be of service.
