U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Chris Casler, 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron pilot, and Royal Canadian Air Force Maj. Dan Ebisuzaki, 436th Transport Squadron pilot, wave from a C-130J Super Hercules to local islanders above Mogmog, Federated State of Micronesia, Dec. 5, 2023, during Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23). Under the leadership of the USAF 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, OCD 23 is poised to be a milestone in the mission’s history as a fleet of C-130J Super Hercules and C-130H Hercules aircraft, along with crews from the U.S., Japan, the Republic of Korea, and for the first time ever, Canada, come together to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Events like OCD 23 provide needed assistance to remote populations while also offering an opportunity to maintain preparedness for real-world emergencies.
