Micronesian islands are seen from the ramp of a Royal Canadian Air Force 436th Transport Squadron C-130J Super Hercules during humanitarian aid delivery drops over Mogmog, Federated State of Micronesia, Dec. 5, 2023, in support of Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23). Under the leadership of the USAF 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, OCD 23 is poised to be a milestone in the mission’s history as a fleet of C-130J Super Hercules and C-130H Hercules aircraft, along with crews from the U.S., Japan, the Republic of Korea, and for the first time ever, Canada, come together to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Events like OCD 23 provide needed assistance to remote populations while also offering an opportunity to maintain preparedness for real-world emergencies.
