Demar Tugay, American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) landscaper, loosens dirt in prior to exhuming a casket during a disinterment at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial (MACM) in Manila, Philippines, Nov. 29, 2023. There are approximately 3,100 unknown personnel laid to rest within the MACM. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and ABMC members continuously work together to disinter these personnel and identify the remains at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
