ANSBACH, Germany (December 3, 2023) - Gerda and Karl Balk showed Col. Aaron Dixon, U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Commander and Herrieden Mayor Dorina Jechnerer their family photo album from a time when the partnership between the two communities began. The "founding parents" of the partnership and friendship shared their photo book that includes happy moments like those captured of the Balks and the former 1st Armored Division band leader and his family from the 1980s. This connection is still going strong as the two families keep in touch to this day.
USAG Ansbach is a U.S. Army Power Projection Platform consisting of aviation, engineering, and artillery assets spread across nine kasernes in the heart of Middle Franconia, Germany.
